Chrang Chamreh / Village Life

Chrang Chamreh village is located along the right bank of Tonle Sap River.
The mosque, which was destroyed during the Pol Pot era, is gradually being restored.
On Eid al-Adha in 1993, UNTAC Islamic soldiers visited the village mosque and held special prayers with the villagers. UNTAC military vehicles were parked in front of the mosque.

It is difficult to earn an income in the village. Some villagers make Cambodia’s national dish, prahok, using fish they catch in the river nearby.
